This is our college. The Sibsagar College, Joysagar - a college of long standing - with saga of sixty four years of its man-making endeavour, a saga of many ups and downs, a saga of many adversities and good times, a saga of its relentless efforts to deliver the best in letter and spirit as envisaged in our stated objectives, vision and mission elsewhere in the pages of the Prospectus. Achievements galore in different spheres of its academic and non-academic agenda, and the UGC has rightly recognized this college as a 'College with Potential for Excellence'. So, this is our college, our glory, our prid. As for me I am proud that I am a product of this glorious institute. I am privileged that I had the opportunity to serve in my alma mater as teacher and finally I feel honoured to have the good fortune of serving this institute as Principal. In all roles and capacities I heartily welcome everyone coming to be a part of this noble seat of knowledge as a learner. I also acknowledge my thankfulness to parents and guardians of the learners for selecting this college for the entry of their sons and daughters to mould their future life. At the same time I assure the best of service an educational institute can provide. In this world and age of tremendous competition in every sphere of life our students should be well abreast of what has been going on in this ever changing world. Success depends on how well they can realize their own duties and responsibilities, My appeal to them will be to be devoted to their religion of study, be loyal to their commitment in acquiring knowledge to make themselves fit to be a member of the knowledge society of this world. the Sibsagar College has all its potentialities. it has a band of ever helpful, efficient faculty members, all its infrastructure facilities e.g. modern classrooms with the latest teaching aids, laboratories, library, recreation facility, sports remedial teaching, coaching for entry in services, career counseling and all that. It is the student who will have to extract everything like honey bee. Once realized the purpose, the aim with which one joins this college the dream is bound to be fulfilled. All my best wishes are conveyed through this column with the high hope that they will bring laurel to this institute by achiving own success as deserved.
